Ashlee Simpson And Wentz Talk About Her New Album: Remember when Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was a pop star and sang about “La-la-ing” on the kitchen floor? In recent years, her sugary pop hits have been overshadowed by that questionable stint on Melrose Place, but it sounds like the singer is now prepping her fourth album.

Simpson-Wentz told a reporter during Fashion Week in New York that she’s “writing it now” and it will have a “folk-feel.” We’re not really sure what that means, but we’re hoping for a bunch of Bob Dylan-inspired numbers featuring Simpson-Wentz and an acoustic guitar. The singer didn’t offer a timeframe for releasing this new record. “I’m not in a rush,” Simpson-Wentz said. “I’m loving being a mom, but I’m excited to get back out there.
Simpson-Wentz’s last record, Bittersweet World, came out in April of 2008, just before she married Pete Wentz. Since then the couple had a child and Simpson-Wentz starred in a Broadway production of Chicago, while Wentz recorded an album with his new band, Black Cards in New York. No word if the ex-Fall Out Boy bassist will be involved in his wife’s new album.
